How is Amaretto made?

Amaretto is made using the kernels of almonds or apricots or both.
It is not a distillate but an infusion. An infusion is a decoction of plants where the alcohol is poured over the almonds or apricots.

Amaretto contains approximately 28 percent alcohol.
