What is Bacardi Gold?
Bacardi Gold, also known as Bacardi Oro, is an amber-coloured rum with a soft flavour.
Bacardi is originally a Cuban brand of spirits, best known for their rum (such as Bacardi 151) and Bacardi Breezer.
The company sells more than 200 million bottles of liquor per year, in almost 100 different countries.
How is Bacardi Gold made?
Rum is made from the lower part of the sugar cane stalk.
By chopping and rolling the cane, a dark syrup is created.
This is then centrifuged, causing the sugar crystals to separate.
What remains is pure 'molasses', the basis of rum.
Bacardi yeast is added to the molasses, which ensures that the sugars are converted into alcohol.
After the distillation process, the rum is completely pure.
American oak is used in the production of the handmade oak barrels.
The barrels are then burned on the inside - by means of a charcoal fire - to ensure that the rum is continuously purified.
Bacardi Gold is filtered over charcoal after maturation.
The components of BACARDI Gold have been matured for one to two years.
How much alcohol does Bacardi Gold contain?
Bacardi is a colourless alcoholic drink with 37.5% alcohol.
