What is Galliano?

Liquore Galliano L'Autentico, better known as Galliano, is an Italian liqueur made from over 100 different herbs, including anise and vanilla. The drink was first created in 1896 by Arturo Vaccari, an Italian distiller. He named the liqueur after Giuseppe Galliano, an Italian war hero. Galliano is the base ingredient in the Harvey Wallbanger and other cocktails.
