How do I create a Gibson girl cocktail?

1. Place one third of crushed ice in a highball glass.
2. Add the remaining ingredients, except the champagne and pineapple.
3. Then stir the mix.
4. Complete the cocktail, to taste, with some small pineapple pieces and ice-cold, dry champagne.
5. Present the cocktail with a straw.
