1. Fill a highball glass 1/3 full with crushed ice.
2. Add the remaining ingredients, except the bitter lemon.
3. Add a sliced kumquat.
4. Then stir the mix.
5. Top up the cocktail with bitter lemon to taste and stir again.
6. Present the cocktail with a straw.
