Cut 6 lemons into slices. Place in a large bowl with the cloves and cover with boiling water. Leave on overnight. Pour the water into a large pan. Remove lemon and cloves. Add sugar; stir without letting it boil until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to the boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes until the syrup becomes thick and syrupy. Let cool.
Lemonade: Place ice in a highball glass. About that 30 ml. pour lemon syrup; top up with soda water.
