Amarone, the big, rich, red wine of Veneto in Northeast Italy, has a relatively short history. The wine was first marketed in the early years of the 20th century. From the beginning, the Boscaini family, and their winery Masi, shaped Amarone's eventual rise from obscure village beverage to one of Italy's great vinous treasures. The story of Masi is the story of Amarone. Amarone is a passionate account of the value and uniqueness of the wine and the place where it was grown and made; and the delicate work and generations old roots that goes into them.
