Preparation:In the past, a sugar cube that had been slightly imitated was placed on the bottom, but nowadays people more often use regular simple syrup. The original Sazerac had a grape brandy base. Nowadays, however, rye whiskey is used more often. Bourbon can also be a substitute. Then a few drops to a few dashes of Peychaud's bitter and Angostura bitter are added.
